Very sorry to ask this question. Perhaps it has already been discussed, but I have not found or did not understand.
There is a list of books in one folder. From it you need to create 66 similar libraries for conversion into a folder from number 1 to number 66. As noted in the search bar when creating a library to do that? Thank you. |

Conversion alone does not require additional Libraries.
One of every possible output format can exist in a single library RECORD (line item) The only case that comes to mind is you must have the SAME book format with significant style attribute(geometry) changes because of multiple device requirements . For most devices, reflow does this on a decently designed novel . Books with charts and Tables are the ones that need special TLC versions. |

And one more question.
Is it possible to create a library, preserving the structure (the main folder \ subfolder level 1 \ sub-folder level 2)? For example: Conan \ Conan and Sword the Sorcerer \ Volume 1. I need all of these 66 libraries made from a list of books to convert at the same time but with different fonts. I hope this clarification will help to understand my need. First of all, that is NOT a normal Calibre Library structure you show
Calibre has it's own filing. 66 different fonts ![]() Why not use 66 Stylesheets (with matching OPF files listing the current fonts)? Or K.I.S.S. Make 66 font sets and use a common file name so the OPF and CSS stay the same. Font1.TTF Font2.TTF ... then use Tweak EPUB and switch out fontfiles If you still want to do the Library way: Calibre does have a 'Copy to Library' You create additional Libraries (with the same structure) , then select books: right click: copy to library |

And the output format - the only epub.

I understand your options. But as long as I do so that it is easier: to create 66 libraries (of 300 books each) and put them on the conversion, each on its own font. While there is this work I have been doing other things. Question - how to ensure that these libraries are not mixed in Calibre?

The easiest way to handle this would most likely be to use the command line tools and scripting.
Don't use calibre libraries. Instead use a folder with all the books that you prepare using calibre and save to disk. And perhaps another folder with the fonts. For each font and book combination, convert and save the converted book to a new folder named after the font. Two loops. One loop over the fonts, the other over the books, inside the other. See: http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/cli/ebook-convert.html Test it with three fonts and three books until you get it working. If you want to you can import the books to separate calibre libraries afterwards. Or change the metadata for the books to include the font name in the title, and import all to the same calibre library and use virtual libraries instead. If you don't have the necessary programming/scripting skills, then hire someone that has. It is not very advanced. Last edited by Adoby; 08-05-2013 at 06:44 PM. |

Or you could make one library, do your conversions and copy that library to another location and rename it. If you have the tweak keep original file name set to on you would always be staring from the original file. Or you could convert the books and write them to disk in any way you chose with any file system you chose.
Seems like a lot of work though h however you do it. ![]() |

Here is a minimal script to do the job. Written for bash. Tested in Ubuntu 13.04 with calibre 0.9.38.
Assumptions:
You can have as many fonts and books as you like. The script will create a output directory ./books-FontName for each font and store copies of all the converted books, with the same name as the original books, with the font embedded as the base font. Sample fonts.txt: Code:
Liberation Serif Bitstream Charter DejaVu Serif FreeSerif Code:
#!/bin/bash cat fonts.txt | while read FONT # loop over font names in fonts.txt do mkdir """books-$FONT""" # create output direcory cd """books-$FONT""" # and make it current for BOOK in ../books/* # loop over the books do ebook-convert """$BOOK""" .epub --embed-font-family """$FONT""" done cd .. done Last edited by Adoby; 08-06-2013 at 01:09 AM. |

![]() So, yes. Both a tambourine and a harmonica are included. However bells and whistles are not. You'll have to add them yourself. ![]() If you install Cygwin (free) you should be able to run the script in Windows. http://www.cygwin.com/ Last edited by Adoby; 08-06-2013 at 09:29 AM. |

Thank you for your help. I'm a little know how to play the harmonica - I now probably almost a programmer.
![]() ![]() I was trying to sort out your advice, but apparently I'm Oak ... With libraries come up with is this: Create a library with the name "author - № 0-1 (2, 3 ...)", sort them by author and rating (0-5), and thus put on the conversion. Last edited by Asche; 08-08-2013 at 07:42 AM. |

OK, I think you are trying to do something very special. I'm not sure what.
Possibly some form of "fingerprinting" in a social experiment with sharing, designed to allow you to trace books back to the source? First there were 66 identical sets of 300 books, but with different fonts. Now it is also sets based on author and ratings? It would be fun if you could be more specific about what you are trying to do. ![]() |

It's magic! The great secret!
![]() I translate books by famous authors completely different genres (fiction, detective, school and college textbooks, training courses, etc.) selected by me on 66 fonts (was 100 - but this is too much and the volume of work, and on the similarity of fonts). Here is the archive of fonts (only 47 pcs.), Use - http://yadi.sk/d/uHtAXjzd7fbxg, here is a sample of the book on my favorite font - http://yadi.sk/d/XLrgy_7I7fd9B (if there are problems with the download, write, fix it.) Naturally all in the first place Cyrillic, and then to Latin, if they are able to support. (I recommend Beaumarchais (kir. and Latin.) - Is in my Windows, browser - anywhere in general. Ecstasy...) I'm sure you'll find yourself on niche sites like. Feature fonts other than the standard sizes: regular font - empty, it lacks the emotional background. It's an emotional emptiness that fills the reader. Most often, when reading the background may appear negative emotions accumulated a man that is very difficult to prevent and learning. The font has its own history, style and character - acts as a companion, a story through text. Thus, an establishment in the subconscious mind of the reader, it is perfectly comfortable for him a form of the text, which increases read performance and digestibility of reading material. Simply put, better memory remembers exactly the emotional color of the text, which is the closest mental \ personal atmosphere of the reader. Last edited by Asche; 08-08-2013 at 07:42 AM. |
