Kobo is the only ereader company (of the big four) that is not offering some type of 'Back to School' sale.

I wouldn't take this as a sign of new items. This weekend, several states in the US are participating in tax free weekend for school related items. So the ereader companies are taking advantage of it.

There have been better deals in the past as shown by this thread in the Deals forum.

Looks like the Kindle DX, which mysteriously reappeared a month or so ago at $299, is now selling for $239. I wonder if Amazon is readying a large format refresh.

Greetings from a fellow Albertan! Yes the pricing from Amazon Canada on their ebook readers is ridiculous.

I've just picked up a refurbed Kindle HD 7 for half that price to play around with. My Galaxy tablet just died and I wanted a cheap replacement.
