[Metadata Source Plugin] Fantastic Fiction Adults

This plugin is is for the adult content website www.ffadultsonly.com that was split off from www.fantasticfiction.co.uk.

Functionality wise it is almost identical to my Fantastic Fiction metadata plugin found on this thread. The only differences are that the ffadultsonly.com website does not support a publication date or genre.

Main Features:

• Can retrieve title, author, series, isbn, comments, publisher and covers
• Also retrieves a Fantastic Fiction Adults id, which can be used to directly jump to the page for a specific book from the book details pane (like Goodreads/ISBN etc).

There is no "Search the Internet (FF) Plugin. There is just a Search the Internet Plugin.

Yes, you should be able to currently search both. The Search the Internet plugin is designed to allow you to configure to search on virtually any site you like.

FYI, I am not kiwidude and this isn't my plugin. But I'm trying to help out by porting some of the plugins I use regularly while kiwidude is busy.

Attached is a test version that should work for both the existing 1.X calibre and the upcoming 2.X version calibre. 2.x will use PyQt5 which requires changes to virtually all plugins.

This version needs to be tested with the existing calibre.

Brave souls to test with with the beta 2.X version would also be appreciated. Links to the 2.X beta and discussion of the transition (for plugins) can be see at: Attn plugin developers: calibre moving to Qt 5.

A kind soul posted a beta update for the fantastic fiction plugin to handle the changes to the fantastic fiction site. I would be very happy if the same could happen here.

Yes, there has been some changes. There seems to be some changes to the layout and some results point to the Fantastic Fiction site. That might cause a problem. I'll try and look at it over the weekend.

Attached is a beta version of the plugin. The site has been changed in a couple of ways. The changes were similar to earlier changes made to the Fantastic Fiction site. That made fixing things easier.

I haven't done much testing, but it seems to work. Please try it and report any issues. For this, I need to know the authors name and book title and see the log from the metadata download.

And if everything is fine, please report that as well.

I think Fantastic fiction adults has made some changes to their website again. The plugin no longer picks up from their website. (The main fantastic fiction plugin still works). However, if you pre-enter the identifier the plugin finds the book just fine.

Thank you very much for the update. While you're busy could you have a look at the fantastic fiction adult plugin. It does not work at all anymore. Even if you put the identifier in manually first i.e. ffa:a/evangeline-anderson/hunted.

However if you put the identifier in the non adult format i.e. ff:a/evangeline-anderson/hunted, ffa:a/evangeline-anderson/hunted it picks it up of the adult site and adds the adult identifier in. Yet if you search it with a blank identifier field it picks up neither.

I wanted to post this on the thread for that plugin but it is closed.

As long as the plugin is around, the thread will be open. There is a message about posting in an old thread, but that's OK for these type of threads.
