Nook HD/HD+ $50.00 Gift Card

OfficeMax is advertising a $50.00 gift card with the purchase of any Nook HD or HD+.
That makes the effective price of the 32GB HD+ $179 - $50 = $129, which is a great price
for this tablet.

The price on their website is still $269, but the in-store price is $179, like everyone else.
I went to BestBuy and they gave me the same deal after verifying the OfficeMax in-store price,
so you can get whichever gift card you prefer.

I just went to office max's website and saw nothing about a $50 giftcard.

Link please?

If I get into the city this week, I'll find out if the Best Buy here will honor it. The nearest Office Max is in the state, but an hour or more away. I'd get two, if I could use one gift card on the 2nd one.

Quite the thread on this at slickdeals on this. Might grab one for my daughter for her birthday (her venerable Nook Color with CM7 could use an upgrade).

The Best Buy closest to my work would not do a match. "We don't match gift cards."

That is clearly stated on their web site, and on the Staples web site too.

I was willing to drive 50 miles to the closest Office Max, but they are sold out.

Doesn't matter that much....my instincts tell me the 7" is going to drop in price very soon. $149 for a 7" HD or $149 for a 9" HD+.....when looked at it that way, I bet they are selling a lot more of the HD+. So I am hopeful the 16gb will drop at least $20 very soon, and the 8gb to $99.

Pretty much sold out on Sunday around here. Besides, I'd rather have $50 taken off than a gift card to a store I never shop at. It's still early in the game and OM is just the first store to break ranks and sweeten the current deals. Wonder who'll be next?

I just picked up the Nook HD today at my local OM for $79 + tax. Nothing said about the gift card, and I didn't ask about it, as I'd rather have the $50 taken off. The HD+ rang up at $99 but they didn't have stock.

Congrats! I've seen where quite a few people are getting the same deals. Meanwhile, others are paying the higher prices and getting the gift cards.

The first post in the thread said they got the match at Best Buy...

Also, BestBuy.com is a different entity from Best Buy... what applies at one, may not apply at the other...

I bought one HD+ and used the GC to buy the second one. Last two in the store. Now I've only got one $50GC to use (could use some printer ink soon enough anyway.

Now I've got one nook for my 6yr old's birthday (replacing her old venerable Nook Color with CM10.1) and one for...dunno yet. I kinda want it but I my Nexus 7 is really perfect for me now...hrmm...

Smile Couldn't resist...

Last night I visited the San Rafael, CA Best Buy and got an HD+ for $99 if I bought a $50 gift card.

Back in the fold.

And yet another twist. I love how store managers have different takes on so-called company policy.

This clearance sale is definitely a YMMV sale.

I bought two 8gb Nook HD's last night from two different Office Max stores.
The first store rang it up at $129 and gave me a $50 GC.
The second store rang it up at $79 and they never mentioned the GC.
I used the $50 GC from the first store towards the purchase of the second HD
and paid $29 for it.

Last week I bought a 32gb HD+ for $152 ($179 minus 15% discount),
from a local B&N store.
