Program cant start MSVCR90.dll missing

Hi all
I am getting the above message on my Windows 7 PC.
The program cannot start because windows cannot find the MSVCR90.dll

Calibre is 0.9.36 64 bit version.

I have installed on my laptop almost all C++ redistributable runtimes
2005, 2008, 2010 x86 and x64 version.

What it looks like is this needs 9.0.21022.8 but my version 9 registered DLL looks like it is 9.0.30729

I had a similar error with Office and managed to walk through changing the registry setting to use the 9.0.30729 version but I cant see what needs to change for Calibre.

Any ideas?

calibre bundles the required CRT in the install folder. It should just use that. I have no idea why it isn't for you.

Ok, the only "wild guess" I can come up with: Did you download calibre from the official download website at http://calibre-ebook.com/download? Or did you get it from some other download location?

If you obtained it from the official download website, have you tried uninstalling calibre, rebooting your computer and re-installing? (Note: I'm not saying you have to do this now, just wondering if you already have already tried this.)
