Cover images increase in size when sending/saving books.
I noticed that .epub files are much larger after I have sent them to my device or saved them to a directory than they were originally.
The reason seems to be that the cover image files inside the epubs are inceasing in size as they are sent/saved. I have my output profile set to Tablet, and image pixel size does not change, but the file size is often about double the original size. I think this must mean that Calibre is increasing the quality level of the image as the epub is sent/saved. If that is the case, how can I stop it happening? It means that the cover is being replaced by whatever cover is present in calibre. Reduce the size of that image if you want to.

Thanks Kovid that explains it, I didn't realise the cover in the book got replaced with the one in Calibre when the book is sent.
