Save annotations to same pdf - M92
Hi,
I have recently bought a M92. I want to use it in combination with zotero. Zotero is able to export pdf documents to a folder (e.g. my SD card). I would now like to annotate these pdfs. Zotero would then know where it exported the pdf to, would get it back from there and extract the annotations. Unfortunately it seems like the M92 creates a new file (with a date postfix) instead of saving the annotations into the original file (once you select export annotations). Is there a way to disable this? If not, is there a way to select the format/content of the appended part? Am I just doing this wrong? firmware: 1.8 20130425 Use old pdf reader is not checked |

I also use Zotero with my M92. It is a little inconvenient but after reading I merge the annoations. Then when it comes to retrieve the pdf with Zotero I delete the original pdf file (or move it to a new folder) and change the name of the merged document so that it matches the original pdf. Then Zotero will retrieve and extract the annotations as usual.
On the positive side, Zotero rarely has trouble extracting M92s annotations, unlike some of the other android-based pdf readers that I have annotated with before in the past. |

Thanks for the answers.
I guess I could do what talizh suggests. But to be honest I would like to automize this a bit. There it would really help if the postfix was more static. As said I am new to the M92. Looking around here in the forums it seems that some of the source code for the device is available while other is not. Is there an overview of that somewhere? If there is code I can change the pdf reader app myself in this regard. |

I agree. I often read batches of academic journal articles and retrieving them back into Zotero one at a time is time consuming. I've thought about batch processing the files and somehow changing their names but haven't figured out exactly how that could work. It would be easier to automate a batch processing if each annotated file just had _merge after it instead of the time and date.
An alternative is exporting the annotations to a text file and just dragging and dropping that into the zotero items. Again, a far from satisfactory solution. Sorry, wish I could help you more! |

Hi,
I doesn't know Zotero. A question about it : when you annotate a PDF with the M92, could you get the annotate text with Zotero and what's the format of this text ? Because there is always some trouble with the exportation of annotated text with the M92 : the spaces seems vanish. |
