So Will Amazon Keep the Larger Fire

It's no secret that the 7" FireHD has outsold the 8.9 version. If and when Amazon Refreshes the Line what the Opinion on whether they will do away with the larger version. I'm interested in one but don't want to buy if new models are coming in the Fall.

I can carry my 7" HD in my wife's pocketbook. The 8.9" HD is simply too large. If Amazon introduces a Kindle Smart Phone and it is sold by ATT, the I will buy that one for sure.

I also prefer the 8.9. Excellent for video and magazine content.

According to reports the next Fire is going to be 10". I do think they want to at least offer a few different sizes.

My wife has the 7", and I have the 8.9". I much prefer the 8.9", since I use it primarily as a tablet, not a reader. She prefers the 7" because she does NOT have a separate reader. That's the difference. I seriously doubt that they will drop the large tablet option, though whether that is 8.9" or 10" or some other size isn't all that important to me.

As I've said in the past, if I knew how terrific the Fire HD would be after rooting it, I would've waited for the 8.9" model. But for now, they'd have to release a 10" or larger one for me to be interested now.

I preferred the 7", and now after having the iPad Mini, I STILL have to say I preferred the Kindle Fire to this new size. It's just way too big for me. And yes, I am dead jealous of my brother's Kindle Fire HD. Just wow. I too would go for an Amazon smartphone to go alongside my iPhone 5S when it comes out. |
