Kobo Desktop 3.2.3 available for download

Hey all Just scooped the Kobo Desktop 3.2.3 Could this be the lead in to the firmware update 2.6.1?

There is generally a new version of the desktop app when firmware is released, so it is part of it.

my Kobo desktop is not updating - did you download from the Kobo site?

EDIT: yes, you can get 3.2.3 form the Kobo site

From what I can tell/have been told, the FW is released slowly, in waves that start small and get bigger. The desktop is available to everyone as soon as it is released. Having the new desktop does not result in getting the new FW any faster.

I downloaded it twicw from the Kobo site and it had no extension on it. I had to add .exe

I'd suspect that is a problem with your operating system and/or web browser. On a Windows 7 x64 system, IE, Firefox, Chrome all downloaded kobosetup.exe. Booting to a Windows XP 32 bit and a Windows 8 64 bit VM gave the same results. A Mint Linux VM with Firefox also downloaded kobosetup.exe -- now if they would make a version to run on it...

I do have all three Windows configurations set to display extensions for known file types. If I disable that setting, I don't see the extension but it is still there.

Actually That happened to me. I was going to scan for a virus now I wonder if Windows is just F.U.B.R.

Sounds more like a browser issue than a Windows issue.

A noob question in regards to the desktop app: Will it update automatically, or when I hit the sync button, or must I download the latest version from the Kobo site?

The kobo desktop software should update when you connect and sync your desktop. However in my case it did not on the upstairs computer but it did on the downstairs computer a few hours later. This might be due to the fact that kobo may not have told the deskstop software it was ready yet till a little bit later. Takes time to update the kobo online system like all things.

I think it's a website issue.

I couldn't get Desktop to start downloading by clicking on the Download button on the website, but if I copied the link from the button, and put that in the address bar, it started downloading immediately.

Has anyone else had the software crash on you as well?
I have had it crash several times. All times while trying to sync my Glo

Any one else?
