Light button

On my Glo, I can switch the light on or off by pressing on the bezel near (about 2 to 3 cm next to, not exactly on) the light button. Apparently the real switch inside is bigger than the outer button.

Is this normal?

When using the Gecko Slimfit case, it happens that pressing on the bottom site (!) of the case, the light goes on or of, en just holding it, makes the light flashing. When removed from the case, the light does not flash anymore!

I wonder if the Gecko case might be one of those which leads to issues with the light causing battery drain when folks think the Glo is sleeping.

I have the Gecko Slimfit cover and I just tried pressing everywhere you mentioned and don't have any of those problems at all. The light only turns on or off when I press directly on the button itself at the top (or when I close the cover which puts it to sleep of course).

The issue I am mentioning is also happening after I put the automatic sleep off.

I hope I can say the same this evening, when I expect to have received a new one.

1. The switch is actually smaller than the external button.

2. I can do this too.

3. Don't do that. It takes a lot of pressure, and what you're actually doing is deforming the case and causing the external button's interior surface to contact the switch. Keep it up and I'll expect to see a post about how your e-ink screen cracked and you have no idea how it could possibly have happened...

Then I'm curious about how it is possible that the small internal switch is pushed when nothing is pushing the external button.

Can you explain why it is possible?

It actually does not take a lot of pressure. Just holding the case with the device on the right down corner between my thumb and indexfinger, or even just tapping it like you tap the screen is enough. If tapping the screen (in a normal way) can break it... Also, this does not happen when the device is not in the case.

Well, the d*** thing factory reset on me for the second time in a week.

After resetting it, and with the case off, it is still reproducable: when I press (not slide) the power button, the light goes on. I presume that with sliding you also press a little, so.... factory reset.

It could, apart from the case, also be something completely rotten inside the glo. Maybe I would have to go and ask if I can exchange it at the shop. After all, it's only one week old...

Something doesn't sound right with your device. I would definitely exchange it. I've had mine since the day they were out and never had it factory reset on me the way you've described.

Beats me, send it back. If it had a bad solder joint, or cracked pc board you'd have a harder time getting the button to press, so much for that. Good luck.

I thought you meant to the other side of the light button... If I press there hard, the case gives a bit and the button presses hard enough on the microswitch to actuate it.
