you can download mobipocket at mobipocket.com. That can be used as a reader for the Blackberry. I have a pocket pc myself. Never used a Crackberry..Actually only seen one once.

Does anything like iSilo or Plucker exist for the Blackberry platform? That is, something that I can take a web page or article from the desktop, then port it to a mobile device.

Hi I read on my Blackberry Curve. I read way over 8 hrs a day on it. I love it. I use Mobipocket. My only complaint is that it does not auto scroll. But the convenience of having my ebook reader be my phone is totally worth it. I have hundreds of books on my micro sd card so I am never at a loss for something to read. Cutee |

See Mobipocket Reader for Blackberry. Note that many other stores sell MobiPocket ebooks, often cheaper than mobipocket.com. One good choice is Fictionwise, but there are others. There are also many public domain ebooks in MOBI format in mobileread's upload section and at Feedbooks.

Mobipocket should have it. GO TO Menu/Display/Autoscroll. Well, That is where it is on my PPC.

Also as of now, the blackberry does not auto scroll. You click the spacebar to flick to the next page. Cutee |

It is a pain because I have many devices and change often. The drm only works with the device that you have listed on Fictionwise. 5 PIDs are not enough for me. I don't like collars. I hate when I put some books on a player and find out that the book won't work because I don't have that specific PID included for that player. I simply take off the drm. Cutee |

If that's legal where you live, then fine. Unfortunately, if I were to do that in the UK, I'd be breaking the law.

Not to start a war... But it seems kind of funny to me that modifying something you own is against the law.
Same is true here though (Australia) - till about a year or two ago we had no itunes and there's no equivalent "fair use" or similar which allows you to rip CD's to mp3 and use them on a portable device. I wonder how all those people buying ipods filled them up with music?... |

fair use and copyright law is a tricky subject. everyone wants to control their IP and everyone wants free use of their purchases
