Red face New features request

Hi everybody,
owning a Kobo Glo I'd like to post here some requests. I hope you do the same...

Here's mine:

- epub reading in landscape mode (when I use largers fonts I'd like to see more in horizontal mode)

- read ebooks with "last" date in my ebook list
- an ebook list ordered by last dates also

- when reading details about my ebook I'd like to see how many pages is (calculated by font used at that time)

- a better research among my ebooks by tags, last dates and so on

- possibility to see "virtual" shelves by tags, last dates, and so on

There is a feature request thread in the sticky section. Kobo developers read that thread.

Did any suggestion from that thread ever get implemented?

Yes. Go back and read the thread a bit, compare what you are seeing on newer FW and devices to what was being asked for in the thread. Does a request in that thread magically become a feature? Nope, but creating a new thread down here would not either.

I think that its nice to see someone with some clarity of thought. Those are very excellent ideas and more importantly your suggestions wont be hidden behind hundreds of other posts.

Regards

No argument from me--though I do think that new folks may not know that Kobo reads the sticky or that there even is a sticky.

I think it is great to have new threads with new ideas.

I don't think that the kobo devs have read the sticky for a long, long, long time. Of if they have, they don't seem to care much.

Kobo people read the forums. But, for enhancement requests, the developers aren't the people whose attention you need. Developers have no power in the decision making. At most, they get to say whether something can be done and how long it will take. The people you need to see these requests are whoever is guiding the direction of the products. I am confident that these people have seen the suggestions.

To be honest, there are very few new or imaginative suggestions in the threads. Kobo probably have a big list of ideas that they have looked at and either discarded or put in the enhancement plan. And I bet most of the suggestions in these threads have already been considered before we make them. We should continue the threads, just in case there is a new idea and it might help to push something up in Kobo's priorities.

But, resetting the enhancement request thread might be a good idea. Those suggestion go back a long time. And they deal with products that are no longer available.

Hi to everybody,
thank you very much for your kindly and interesting commenting posts here. I didn't know where exactly posting my ideas and sorry if not right here. I hope Kobo see mine, also by your helping posts. Well, I hope so.

My ideas are simple: I use Kobo and I need that all fits my needs.

The first problem is, as my first post, how to find my ebooks and a better use of it:

A) a search function by
- last read date
- tags

B) virtual shelves by
- last read date
- my rating experience (a sort of graduated "I like" system)
- tags

C) different reading method by
- landscape epub mode (when I use largers fonts I'd like to see more in horizontal mode)

D) useful details in detail ebook page by
- showing you how many pages has your book (calculated by font used at that time)
- maybe showing you all tags there and to click them searching other ebooks

E) the page visible in stand by mode by
- showing what you like, even the last read page or a page you like to show there o another you save in your kobo root

Here's my updated post, now. I hope here can be read by some Kobo developpers. I hope...

PS. If Kobo isn't interested in our feedbacks I'll stop to post other ideas I have... (circa 11 other ideas or suggestions) before I'd like to understand if they read us. I prefer a no instead of never-read-our-users-in-this-forum

Please if this post has to be posted in another area for Kobo developpers, paste & copy the exact link in your reply where I can write everything. Thank you in advance!

Start, don't let yourself be bullied into writing your post somewhere else where it will get lost in the nirvana of unread posts. Yours is perfectly entitled to a thread of its own.
Regarding whether Kobo reads the old thread, or any thread at all for that matter, it is very much like Elvis : his fans are very vocal about his sightings, I would personally ask for any proof of life.

To the usual suspects : is it going that far that we are not supposed to complain in any other thread than in an old sticky ? Seriously guys ? You don't own this forum you know. And Kobo is really not that good, and you should come to term with that fact.

Will Calibre support fetching annotations for epubs from other ebook readers (e.g. MoonReader+) from my Tablet?

Thanks for replying
