Digitizer keeps going off

I am trying to annotate some pdf's, but find that after a little time, or on certain parts of the screen, the ink appears about 1/4 of an inch below where the pen is. This makes it almost impossible to annotate something correctly. When I run the digitizer again, it corrects the problem for a minute or so, but then it reappears and I need to digitize again.

On further experimentation, I find the tracking of the pen is problematic on pdf images -- it seems to work better when the pdf is text.

Are you keeping your pen at the same angle to the screen all the time? I found that I'd calibrated my pen at quite a sharp angle for my left hand, and my right-handed friend had trouble using it at all. And if I want to annotate documents in landscape format, I have to recalibrate, otherwise the lines arrive in the wrong place.
