Author display on Kindle Paperwhite

Hi

This question might be very simple... or not.

The Kindle Paperwhite displays the author as "Firstname Lastname" (but it does sort on the last name), while I would like it to display "Lastname, Firstname" (and of course, keep sorting on the last name). I've already ticked "Use Author Sort for Author" in Calibre's options. That may actually not have been neccesary: Author and Author_Sort are the same. Both are "Lastname, Firstname".

It seems the Kindle is detecting the comma, and reversing the name back to "Firstname Lastname" or something.

Is there a way to get it to display as I want it to?

I'm already using plugboards to get the series information into the title. Maybe it's possible to do something similar for the author display as well.

I don't think you can get "LN, FN", since the kindle sees the comma as a special character, but I remembered reading about people wanting this, so a little search lead me to this thread.

In short, the plug-board

Code:

{author_sort:re(\,,:)} ---> authors

should give you LN: FN. It's at least close to what you want.

Hm, OK. Replace the comma and space with another character.

Maybe I'll try Lastname.Firstname.

It's not a matter of grave importance, but when looking for an author by last name in the list, I often just miss him or her as I'm not used to seeing "Firstname Lastname".
