Greetings from the Big Apple

Hi all-- so happy to have found these forums. I splurged (or rather my husband did for Valentiens day- but hey, it's my money too) on the Sony PRS 505 and OMG I love it.

I feel like a real newbie though. I have thus far only bought books form Sony's website. I tried fictionwise.com, but really, there does not appear to be many bestsellers taht they have in Sony's forma-- which I believe, help me out here if I am wrong-- is .LRF. Is that correct? I have herard BBeB mentioned but do not know what that is. is there another/better place to purchase books for the PRS?

Do people buy in other formats and convert to LRF? is it really difficult for a semi-luddite ?

Hope to speak with some of you soon.

Joyce

Many people on this formum buy books in LIT format on Fictionwise or other third party websites and convert these files into LRF (for the Sony Reader) or Mobipocket (Cybook, iLiad, Kindle).

I've never converted any files this way but it shouldn't be that hard to do overall...

Hi scrappnjoyce and welcome to the Forum. I've got a 505 and really like it. Have, so far, bought books exclusively from the Sony site but there are other options.
