RAPID CHARGE ERROR?

Just noticed something odd. I noticed that the Kobo Touch my stepmother has seems to be rapid charging while it is plugged into the computer and left in the on state. However it is not really charged fully. When I shut the KT off and turn it on while plugged in to computer a different state is revealed. It is now showing a completely different power state from the fully powered off state it was in when left on to charge fully. So to recap fully charged from the computer its done in a very short time and power cycled while attached to the computer reveals it is not really fully charged, (first symptom was the touch drained in less then 48 hours in standby mode no reading) status when rebooted immediately shows that the touch is really only 60 percent charged give or take.

this occurred after going to 2.5 and seems to be presistant in the 2.5.1 state as well. Any one else with similar notations about power any firmware version?

regards

NOt sure if it is the same thing...

I have always noticed that if I charge (by any method) until just fully charged, after unplugging, the charge immediately drops to 90-95%. But, if I leave it charging for a while, it stays at 100%. I think that the charge is meered based on voltage at the battery. So, with the charger connected, the voltage is at full even though there is still capacity in the battery.

It could be I have noticed that as well. Although I thought Kobo had a circuitry to test the charged capacity.

This is my experience as well. [Kobo Touch] You cannot accurately tell how charged the battery is when it is taking voltage from the USB. It appears that there is no special circuitry to take account of this. The battery is fully charged if it reads 100% when plugged in, AND still 100% 10 seconds after your unplug it.

I have seen this and it seems to be more dramatic then just a a small drop in capacity. In my Case it was like 25/26 percent difference. I am curious if this will ever be addressed by Kobo and wonder if this a continuous plague amongst the kobo devices.
