Command line—HOW? (Mac OS X version)

A lot of threads explaining how to do various things require the command line interface. My problem is I don't know how to get there. I'm using Calibre 0.9.27 on a Mac running OS X (10.7.5, to be exact).

I've gone to Preferences/Advanced/Miscellaneous and clicked on "Install Command Line Tools." I get the message:

"Command line tools installed in /usr/bin. If you move calibre.app, you have to re-install the command line tools."

After that, however, I'm afraid I'm lost.

You need to open a command prompt (however you do that on a MAC).
Now you can type the command

Thanks! I thought I had to do something from within Calibre. On the Mac, by the way, the Terminal application is how you get a command line. Somehow, I thought that was too easy.

On OS X you have to go to Preferences->Advanced->Miscellaneous and click install command line tools to make the command line tools available. On other platforms, just start a terminal and type the command.
