Can headers/footers be removed in bulk conversion?

I have asked this question 3 years back and am hoping that now with many updates to Calibre since then, it may be possible (one can always hope )

When I make a regex for the header or footer it usually reads like this

<i> ____________ </i><br>
where the ____________ is the name of the author or title of book.

But this means that I can remove the header or footer only book by book. What should be done for bulk conversion? Is there a format for putting in the author genericly??
