Troubleshooting Kindle Touch Frozen on Ad Page. HELP?

I have a KT that is frozen, displaying a "Special Offer." I've searched the threads on this site and tried using some of the tools with no luck. Here's a quick overview of where I'm at (I'm working in Win7 64-bit):

Charged the KT for 24 hrs from a wall outlet.
Attempted hard reboot and putting it in recovery mode (many times).
Tried putting it in fastboot mode with mfg.tool - mfg.tool indicates the operation works, but Fasboot GUI does not see it. Diag and Main modes give the same results.
Installed various drivers (from Fastboot GUI and using Inf-Wizard).
Windows sees it as an HID/USB Input Device, but it doesn't show up as an accessible drive.
It shows up in Devices as NS Blank CODEX.

I'm about to give up, but I thought I'd ask the experts... any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That is associated with low power AFAIK.

What mode did you leave it in for charging?

Fastboot mode allows charging. Diags does not AFAIK. Main mode does.


Once you have it in fastboot. And Charged.
