Mini Kobo mini charging port loose

hi my kobo mini ereader charger port has come loose from the main circuit board and i am wondering what to do as my warranty has expired

kobo mini hasn't been out for a year yet. you have a year warranty with kobo. contact them directly.

I don't know that kobo requires a receipt....especially on something that is obviously not a year old. but maybe they do...someone else who has experience with sending theirs in might know for sure.

If you have a local HDTV or general electronics repair shop they might be able use a hot air reflow station to solder it back on for a few bucks. It'd probably only take a minute or two once you pop the back cover off provided the component mounts on that side.

This should not matter.

The warranty is between you and the manufacturer, not the original seller.

The Mini has not yet been for sale for a year, so it is definately covered in the 12 month warranty that Kobo offers on that device.

Maybe in Australia, but warranties in the US are usually between the manufacturer and the original purchaser only.

However, some manufacturers will honor a warranty if an item is accompanied by the original receipt, or a copy thereof. I suspect this is more to prove that the item was actually purchased somewhere rather than being stolen merchandise. How that would work out with Kobo where they have the original owner's registration information, is anyone's guess. But it never hurts to try.
