displaying first page or image without rule

Hi,

This only concerns epub without covers.

On the kobo, when I power it off, and on the "home" screen", I sometimes get a nice cover with author and title (the default kobo cover), and sometimes I get the ugly first page (usually too small to be read).

Weird that the same book, changes this way depending of my Kobo's mood.

Actually, one rule I might think of is: at first install of the book, I get the default (readable) cover, and at the next start up, I get the first page.

Is there a rule ? Is there a way to always have the cover made by Kobo using metadata, and never have the first page.

Thank you for any hint.

François

What firmware does your Kobo have? There were issues with covers in several of the recent levels but 2.4.0 seems to handle covers quite well.

HI,

I am using 2.4.0.

I guess I will try to find the value in the sqlite to put everything with the default cover... Do you know the right value for this ? Or can I set this in the conf file?

Except for TXT formats books, the Kobo devices use the first page of the book as the cover. If it doesn't that is a sign of a problem. There isn't any option to turn this off. And if you look around the forum, there has been a LOT of discussion on getting the covers right.
