Any way to totally disable the dictionary?

Hello,

I just bought a Glo for my mum for mother's day as her old PRS-300 is dead.

She keeps resting her thumb on the screen or resting her finger before turning the page. Is it possible to turn off the highlighting/dictionary? as she keeps getting frustrated by the dictionary keep popping up

I have that happen to me when I am reading at night and really should turn off the reader and go to sleep so I know how annoying it can be. I don't know of any way to keep the popup from happening. Have you thought about getting her a non-touch screen device? I recently bought a Kobo WiFi (two versions back) for about $50 for my husband who doesn't like touch screens. His WiFi was still going strong, so this is a backup.

I know it's another expense but you could also get her the sleep cover for the Glo. The little extra width added should be enough that she won't be resting her thumb on the screen but the on the frame. I have big hands and I find it helps me keep my fingers off the screen when I am reading. Also has the bonus of protecting the screen when not reading.
