Regarding the 'Add Books' function.

Or, specifically, the first option regarding reading data from file contents rather then file name. There is a good side and a bad side to this. When reading from file contents, I won't have to worry about whether or not the epub file has a cover, because it is displayed in the left panel. Bad side? A lot of the files have to be renamed with Calibre, and since I can't 'Tab Down' in order to select *just* titles, I have to manually click every book that has to be renamed.

With regards to reading from file name, I honestly see no problems except for one really big one: When reading from File Name, the cover isn't displayed. So I have no idea if the book has a cover until *after* I save it to disk.

Also, a low point with both is the lack of metadata when re-adding books to calibre.

So can someone tell me if it's possible to view covers with *Reading from File Name' if not, can someone tell me how to 'Tab Down' Instead of 'Tabbing Right'? I seldom need to edit the authors, just the titles when they say things like [Series Title][Title] - Author (This is after I've deleted the series title from the name. However, the metadata seems to be preserved even still. I usually wouldn't have a problem with that, however, finding metadata for those books is next to impossible without editing the title.

Also, unrelated but something *really* annoying: When I download bulk metadata, sometimes it grants me metadata for a completely different book. For example, I wanted the data for 'Winds of Change' by Lee Rowan' and it gave me the metadata for 'Why God is King'. (As a non-Christian, this offended me. I don't keep that sort of rubbish in my house.) I think this was with extracting from ISBN, which is scary since I wasn't aware that books can share the same ISBN.

Any advice regarding this? Thanks!

If you use Bulk (single title) Mode metadata edit rather than edit in the bookshelf, you have a Next<> Previous button.

Full bulk mode, there is a tick box to get covers from book:

Steps

Search covers:false (get all books that have no cover set)
Select all (ctrl-A) de-select those you don't want to touch.

Tap 'E' Bulk metadata edit, tick the set covers box, OK

Thanks for the assistance, I already knew about the first Metadata option.

And thank you so much for the info regarding 'Set From Ebook Files(s) in Bulk Mode! This makes it so much simpler. My thanks!
