Android) Is there a reader app where you can export file with your edits preserved
Is there an app for Android that can export your .epub file with the all the highlightings that you have made to the file intact so that you can post it online so that other people can download your highlighted version of the .ePub?
I asked the same question for iOS and it turns out there is such an app for iPad only currently: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=196019 Quote:

You're not actually changing the epub at all when you highlight/annotate. No new "version" is created. You may find apps that allow you to share highlights, but none of them will be likely to create a new version of the epub (or alter the original). Highlighting/annotation is a feature of the reading app and is completely external to the epub itself.

Lots of apps to export Handwritten annotations for pdf files. Repligo is one.
Epubs=read above. You export text files from your notes, and your app associates some kind of external text the epub while you use it |

Would anyone make an app where if you highlight, bookmark, or add annotations, actual changes are made to it, so that you could publish it on a blog with all the right annotations (for out of copyright texts)?

The app that you pointed out does not do what you think it does. It's a "future" feature that still doesn't do what you need. Their proposed solution is to create an annotation file that you can share with folks. Those same folks must then import the file to see your annotations. This however will require all users to use the same app.
Moon+ Reader does exactly what the app you've identified does. You can export your annotations as a file and friends can view your annotations by importing the file. You can also share your annotations directly to any app Blogger apps included. (Just in case it's not obvious) your friends will have to have the same Epub file to import your annotations file The only case that I've seen where annotations are platform / app independent is with PDF files. The reason for that is the PDF file has that in the specs. Epub is not so evolved so Epub viewers are forced to implement their own solution. =X= Last edited by =X=; 02-26-2013 at 03:42 PM. |

I got a response from Moon+ confirming the above post:
hi, the .po sync data file is used for Moon+ Reader only in android devices, it can't be read by other platforms or applications. Regards Seany |

Any update on this topic?
Is Moon+ still the best app to export highlights? Is there a way to import highlights into Calibre from Android? |
