{author} gives author_sort in template?
In a save template I use {author} and {title}, but they give author_sort and title_sort instead. Is this intended? How can I get just author and title?

I believe that output is working as intended since that is how the book list displays both of those columns.
The only way I can think of resolving the issue is to swap out the official columns for custom columns. Kind of like folks have done for the Rating column for use with Goodreads. I had to do something similar with my title_sort, as seen in the topic Managing book title display. |

Quote:
{Authors} vs {Author_sort} may be overridden by the output driver: check the setting options NOTE there is a 'S' on the end of {authors} |
