What OS are you using? If you are using Win XP, it does not recognise MTP, and therefore will not recognise the Fire HD.
oops, looks like you have Win 7...sorry, can't help. Have you tried the Device subforum in the Calibre Forum? Last edited by GoSharks; 01-19-2013 at 11:33 PM. Reason: Looked closer at the post! |

Kindle Fire not recognizing Calibre
I just bought my Kindle Fire yesterday. I have a MacBook Air using Mac OS X version 10.5.8. I have connected the Fire to my Mac via the USB cord that came with the Fire and have opened Calibre but Calibre doesn't recognize that a device is connected. Any advice? I had no problems with my old Kindle Keyboard version.

calibre won't recognize a fire hd on Mac (or XP). That's not a bug, that's just the way it is.

I did post in the device forum. Goyal said to reboot both - which worked once - now it isn't working again. Tried rebooting together again last night and nothing. Such a pain because ALL of my books are in epub
