Paperwhite to Nexus 10 Whispersync Problem (Also Nexus 4 support)
Hi,
I'm trying to "Sync Furthest Page Read" from my Kindle Paperwhite to my Android Nexus 10. The Process I'm using:
The problem: "Sync to Furthest Page Read" is grayed out on the Kindle Paperwhite. I have tried turning automatic syncing on and off in the Kindle and it doesn't seem to make a difference. If I hit the sync button on the Nexus 10, it always says all devices are synced to furthest page read. Any ideas? P.S. Any chance of Nexus 4 support? Plugging it in (MTP) doesn't show the Device menu in Calibre. Thanks! Ben |

I suggest sending your mobi files by email, that will cause amazon to assign them a dedicated asin and syncing should then work. The downside is that the books will be listed as personal docs instead of books on your devices.
As for Nexus 4, calibre should already support it if you're on windows. If you're on liunx, you will need to post the usb ids of the device so they can be added to the MTP driver. |

I just tried emailing to the Kindle Paperwhite, and still no luck. The "Sync to Furthest Page Read" option is still grayed out. Any further ideas? Also, as for the Nexus 4, I'm not sure what the issue would be. This is on Windows, and the Nexus 10 shows up fine. MTP seems to function fine for both devices in Windows. *UPDATE* Got this to work by turning on automatic sync. For some reason wouldn't work without that. The way that worked was to email to my Paperwhite, then use the website to send the same document to the N4. (Still no luck with N4 and Calibre, though) Thanks, Ben Last edited by Fmstrat; 12-27-2012 at 04:34 PM. |

Go to preferences->miscellaneous and post the device detection log with your nexus 4 plugged in.

Try rebooting both your device and the computer. Though I dont see why it would detect in the debug output and not in the main program.
