Smile Library Duplication/Backup

So I'm kind of confusing myself with what I'm trying to do... and I'm hoping you fine folks can help me clarify and set a course.

As an example setup, let's say I have a desktop (Windows 8), laptop (Windows 8), and a NAS storage unit (unRAID).

I would like to have the library accessible on both the desktop and the laptop (as when I'm at home, the desktop is easier to use, but obviously, the laptop will be what travels with me).

So in my head, I'm thinking I should set up a sync of the library folder to sync three ways, between the desktop, laptop, and NAS.

All I'd have to remember here, is when I make a change to the library on any device, to re-sync.

Since MS Live Mesh is going the way of the dodo, I'm looking into Cubby (EDIT: Apparenty the sync portion is paid only with Cubby, and I don't need 100GB of online storage, so if anyone has a better replacement for mesh, please speak up) to perform the sync duties.

Anyways, I'm kind of rambling here, because I can't get it clear in my head.

Would the above be the best way to go about doing this task?

Did any of that make sense at all? :/

I dunno your space requisites but I would use Dropbox to sync automatically everything... Install it on your pc. Point the dropbox folder to a NAS share. Install dropbox in your laptop locally. If space is a concern you may move the library database (not the books) to dropbox. Though I don't how to move only the database to a folder I've seen a description of how to achieve that in this same forum.

Interesting. I never thought to use DB for my ebook library. I guess it wouldn't be large as long as I don't put my Comics in there.

hmmm... I'll look into this.

I'll have to look into how to move my library. I'm sure it's not too hard. Thanks.
