Overdrive word search?

Hi,

I downloaded and am using Overdrive as an ereader. I'm reading a book with a ton of characters in it and I'd like to reference them somehow in case I lose track or who they are. (Yep, getting old, I guess).

I used to use a Nook Tablet for ereading and if you highligted a word, not necessarily a charcter, but any word, an option to "find" the word (or character) opened up and a list of page numbers for every time the word (or character) appeared opened up.

Very convenient for finding when new characters were introduced and in what context they were introduced.

I can't find this function in Overdrive. Does Overdrive have it?

Thanks.

Does no one know what I'm asking here? Perhaps I phrased my query awkwardly.

I can't find it either. Not in Overdrive for Android, anyway.
It is common in other reading apps, though. I know Kindle, Coolreader, and Sony all have global text search but Overdrive only has (online) dictionary search (for definitions) and a very lean function at that.

Depending on what you're reading on and whether you're reading Library ebooks you *might* be able to use a different app.

Overdrive is a decent reading app but it seems to be a bit of a work in progress, feature-wise. Its virtues are stability and simplicity more than flexibility.

You may want to try Aldiko.

Aldiko can be registered with Adobe to read DRM'ed library books, is much faster than Overdrive's app and is also more feature-rich. The speed of page turns alone makes Aldiko worth switching to.

There is a free version and a premium for $2.99 and the premium is, from what I understand, mainly a donation for development. I never noticed ads when using the free version and the $2.99 seems worth it for such a useful app.

There is also another reading app or two that can handle Adobe DRM, but I don't remember what it/they is/are.
