Which Kobo Glo color is the worst fingerprint magnet?
I'll be asking a friend to buy a Kobo Glo for me while she's in the US but don't know which color is the worst fingerprint magnet. I did a search and there seems to be more complaints about the black but that could just be that more people bought black readers.
Any help would be much appreciated! ![]() |

I have one of the black, and at first it did seem to be a total fingerprint magnet - but after a couple of weeks, I don't really notice it at all. Kinda gross, but I think that the plastic has absorbed enough body oils to reach a kind of saturation point
![]() My guess is that the black is bad initially, but I'm hoping it won't show dirt and grime as much later on. I had one of the blue KTs, and the quilted started showing dirt and grime after a while... |

Now I can touch the bezel without leaving remarkable fingerprints. Some that still become visible I can blur easily. There's a slight reflection added, but it's not interfering my daily reading. If you don't like the result, just wipe the bezel with a Kleenex. |

I have a black model and honestly I don't really have any issues with finger prints. Probably cause my hands are clean at all times.

Phew! And all other people leaving fingerprints on a black device have dirty fingers all the time? Even with clean fingers you'll stamp fingerprints everywhere.

I have a black Kobo as well and I don't have any problems with fingerprints. Some people, I think, just have more naturally produced oils on their skin. My feeling is that while the black may show finger oils more, the white, with time, will show more dirt build-up.

I've got black; no fingerprint issue. Also the black bezel makes the screen look brighter to most people (even without the backlight on). Place a white Kobo and black Kobo (Wi-Fi, Touch, or Glo) side-by-side and most people can see this effect.

![]() I have a black kobo glo as well. I only notice finger prints on it if I have moisturizer on... White I'm afraid will get dirty too quickly! |

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only guy in the world that has heard of a microfiber cleaning cloth -the kind you use with your glasses or camera optics?
EVERYONE has some oil on their fingers, or badly cracked fingers from a terrible skin condition. Fingerprints would hardly have been a worthwhile method of forensic identification for over a century were it not so. I spend way more time wiping the screen on the Acer Iconia A500 Tablet I'm using to browse this forum, probably because the gorilla glass on it tends to be pretty glossy and it annoys me more when I power it down. My peeve concerning the Touch is that Kobo had to slap a white logo on the bezel of my nice flat blackish device which reflects enough light from my LED reading lights that I've actually taken a black magic marker to it! I'm half tempted to take a little lacquer thinner to it to see if it'd wipe off. |

I own a black Kobo Glo and sometimes it does show fingerprints but to get past that I normally wear gloves that have touch capability. Having the Kobo Glo in a case so you're actually holding the case not the bezel also helps. I always leave my Kobo Glo in its case but when I don't I just use a microfiber cloth and the fingerprints comes off easy. I would think it's better to know there are fingerprints there then to not. I can see a white Kobo Glo getting dirty over time. Especially if you don't regularly clean it. Also, reading text just looks better with a black bezel. It's all about preference so keep that in mind.

I'm sure the local police department could find fingerprints on it but I certainly can't see them... |

I had a white Touch for a year (I gifted it to my mother when I bought the Glo) : as I regularly cleaned it with a micro-fiber cloth, it was not looking dirty (and I do not always have clean hands, quite the contrary ! ) I then bought a white Glo, as I had seen in the store that the black one showed more the finger prints when I first bought my Touch. I'm happy with the white one and it still don't become dirty, though I have not yet found the case I wish for it...

My black Glo was covered in fingerprints from day 2.
I'm meticulous about my personal hygiene so my hands are as clean as they can get,but I have oily skin. Now it's hardly notisable because the plastic is saturated. I want to clean it(now I find it qquite disturbing ![]() Any ideas? @OP. Someone in this forum mentioned that the white one is better. |

Maybe something intended for car interiors, plastics and rubbers like Armor All? Never thought about that before.
You might want to try it on the back first and maybe avoid the screen. My biggest fear would be that it would look glossy after the Armor All and I would not like the glare on my Touch from my LED reading lights. I might like how my Speck case would look...
