Word to HTML to .Epub to .mobi

I have a book formatted in word, I saved the doc as an html file. Took the html file opened and converted in Calibre to an epub, there are tons of errors, where do I start here?

Use sigil for making epub from html. Its like a word editor but for epub. It will fix most of the things automatically the rest you can fix manually.
