Reading epub with Firefox add-on

Is it possible to install firefox and its epub extension into the Kindle Touch?

I know the most common practice is to convert epub format to mobi. But it would seem to be more efficient to read the epub format directly in the Kindle.

Not at all possible. The best solution is to get a device such as a Sony Reader that supports ePub natively.
