				Using Calibre with multiple devices

Calibre is terrific for managing ebooks on both the local computer and also on portable devices. I'm now using Calibre on Kubuntu Linux with a Nook and with an Android phone. When a device is connected, there appears a new column "On Device", with the text "Main" to show which storage system the book is on. It would be nice if the "On Device" text were to be shown whether a device is connected or not, and if it were to additionally show which device(s) the book is on (Nook, Android). Is there a way to configure this behaviour, or would it be worthwhile to file a feature request? Thank you! |

What you can do is create a custom column and manually fill it in every time you transfer an eBook to a device. To be honest, I cannot see this as a feature that many will want and I highly doubt Kovid will want to put in the effort for such a feature that's not all that worthwhile. |

Only ONE enabled device may connected at a time. You need to create (and maintain status) a custom column if you want to track which book is on which device. BTW the connected device (driver) is shown at the bottom |

You could use the Reading List plugin to automate the management of a different column per reader
