.lit Conversion Problem
Hi- I've got a PRS 505 that I love, but I'm having a problem with converting one of two Star Trek books (not available at Sony
) I bought from SimonSays.com at the same time. I'm able to read both books in MS Reader, but when I try to use the Lit Converter on one (Troubleshooting by Robert Greenberger) For an instant I get a flash of the black screen window that opened up (and continued into the full window showing all the part of the book) fine on the other book then I get the "The path"........" does not exist or is not a directory" warning! Is it a problem with this specific book or what? I do find it amusing though tha the book I'm having trouble with is titled "Troubleshooting" and the one I had no problem with is "Signs From Heaven"!! ![]() Can anyone help me?!?? ![]()

litconverter is a GUI for ConvertLit. Perhaps the problem is a DRM book, a different DRM scheme than your lit reader is expecting, or a problem with convertlit itself. Perhaps using the command line interface would yield more explicit error messages.

. I don't suppose there is any other program to do it though.I may be a Trekkie , but I'm no good at "techie" talk. "Command line interface" pretty much goes over my head. I may have bitten off more than I can chew trying to do conversions. Maybe I'm better off waiting for the Sony store to add it! ![]() I sure love all the smilies available here!!!

Command Line Interface (CLI) is the politically correct term for DOS. In WinXP you click Start, Run, enter cmd in the box, and finally click the OK box. This brings up a DOS window that allows you to enter all of the old DOS commands and a few new commands.
I still have a few programs that I use from time to time that require this. They have not been updated (or replaced) in over 10 years. Also libprs500 runs from both a GUI in Windows and a CLI. |

Thanks for the translation! I don't like to mess with stuff like that, I don't want to mess up my PC. Something went screwy with our first (IBM) PC and we ended up unable to access DOS.
I think I may just keep pestering the Sony store to add the one title!
