Calibre 8.69 crashing on metadata edit
I have had problems with calibre crashing when editing metadata before.
I have been using calibre 8.33 without problems but have never been able to use a newer version. Tired of installing and then having to revert to 8.33 because of crashes. I have tried turning off my AV etc. but still crashes. Tried updating Quick Time & Codecs but still crashes. Figured I would at least post my debug log from 8.69. calibre Debug log calibre 0.8.69 Windows-XP-5.1.2600-SP3 Windows ('Windows', 'XP', '5.1.2600') Python 2.7.3 Windows: ('XP', '5.1.2600', 'SP3', 'Uniprocessor Free') Starting up... Have you tried completely uninstalling calibre before installing a new version? It might be, that you have incompatible DLLs in you calibre directory. I remember that happening to many people when Sigil used an updated QT.
As your config is not saved in the calibre directory you don't need to reconfigure calibre after deleting the calibre directory in 'program files'. |

That debug log isn't terribly helpful, for your crash. Here's a build of calibre that should output a slightly more useful log, though given that this crash is happening inside the Qt library it may not be fixable in calibre code. http://calibre-ebook.com/downloads/b...bre-0.8.69.msi
