This is no different then a rectangle and a rectangle with rounded corners.

My parents and I would be fine with Jitterbugs, if we could get them with a real carrier instead of the POS carrier that they're all locked in to.

That was related to the technology for 3G that Samsung had licensed as FRAND to Intel. The 4G patents are much newer, and at the moment I don't think we know which ones Samsung are going to claim are infringed.

What we do know is that Samsung has a good history of innovation in this area, with over 800 patents, while Apple had no 4G patents a year ago. Since then they've developed 44 and bought another 300 or so.
