NAEB Status Update

Hi all,

I received a helpful email today from the folks at NAEB which gave me an update on the status of their orders with Bookeen.

"We are currently at 84 units sold. However Bookeen is working with us and we will be getting in a shipment of 100 units at the end of January."

So evidently, they worked out an arrangement with Bookeen to just place an order for 100 readers instead of 1000, for this first time at least. Probably because it's taking NAEB much longer than they thought to get up to 1000 orders. (My guess is that the PayPal and credit card ordering process problems have put a kink in their projections).

I am #60 and very anxious to get my Cybook! It seems that my laptop is growing heavier and heavier each day. I can't wait to read on my new very light cyvbook.

It is a bit sad that there is no update on the NAEB store website.

Mostly because we've been so focused on just getting Paypal to 'work with' instead of 'work against' us. Toss in a bit of confusion in getting our CC processor to handle Amex and Discover and we've kind of overlooked maintaining our website. Sorry.

Amex and Discover are up and running. We're close to being able to place our initial 100-unit order (94 orders received) and we hope to do so either by tomorrow or early Monday. Thanks for your patience.

We are currently at 97 units sold. At 100 units the January order will be closed and we move on to February.

Have you had an indication from Bookeen whether or not they'll be able to fill your order from the batch of machine's they're due to start shipping next week?

Yes, our 100 pieces are on reserve from what they get next week.

NAEB. Otherwise the price goes up dramatically due to the international shipping rates on individual units, among other factors.

As on 1-17 you guys have 94 orders? Maybe I made it then, on the 14th I was order #120! I hope I made the cutoff, I can't wait to get my cybook!
