KT or KT with offers?

Hi everyone, I'm a long-time lurker who's finally coming out from the shadows.

I've finally settled on an ereader after months of looking over this site and others, looking at the readers themselves ... and I'm looking at the KT or KT with offers.

The problem is ... the KT with offers that I've seen had what the guy at the shop referred to as "demo software" so it didn't show the offers.

So I'm wondering how bothersome people with the KT find the offers, mainly on the home screen?

Once I figure out whether to go cheap or to get the non-offered version, I'm just waiting for the Amazon announcement next week so maybe it'll drop the price on other readers (hopeful much?).

Thanks again for any help. Wonderful site here.

The offers only show up when the Kobo is asleep, below the title of whatever you're reading. It's pretty much all ads for sunglasses and how-to-use-your-Kobo tips. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any updates to the ads. I don't mind them much, but they do get old. And it'd be kinda nice to have the book's cover show instead. But hey, I was in a hurry to replace my old reader, and that's what was in stock in the store that day.

More info in this previous thread.
