BCE date display

I am trying to have a column that displays when the original of a work was released.

For areas like Greek drama this date is often BCE.

How do I get BCE dates to happen?

The toolkits calibre uses dont support BCE dates (the earliest date that is possible is 101 AD in calibre). You can add some text about the date to the comments field or create a custom text column and add the text there.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Using the negative symbol "-" for BCE I've just tested out an integer column and it organises natural years in ascending or descending order well. (sample years: -3000, -485, -480, -5, 9, 116)
No need to add zeros to the front of shorter numbers.
