Mobi / Original_Mobi Issue...
I have about 350 books in the mobi format that were showing up in the docs section of my Kindle Fire.
I reconverted all of the mobi files and made sure the [docs] tag was not present and they were relabeled in my library with the "original_mobi" file format name. This worked fine for loading the books onto my KF and having them show up in the proper (books) section. The problem I have is that calibre will not let me email these new files because the file format "Original_mobi" is not supported or recognized. I restored a couple of the books to previous mobi format and was able to email them but they again appeared in the docs section. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, can you please tell me how to convert mobi files to mobi files without the [doc] tags and still be able to email them to my device? Thanks in advance. |

Original_mobi are the mobi files prior to your conversion, hence the name "original". The "new" mobi files (post conversion) are labeled mobi. Last edited by DoctorOhh; 07-31-2012 at 07:30 PM. |

Why then, if I delete the "original_mobi" files, do the "mobi" files continue to show up in the docs section when I email them; but if I drag and drop via usb the "original_mobi" files transfer directly into the books section and the "mobi" files go straight to docs?

I think i've got it now, thanks. Is there a way (other than going through a conversion process) to simply remove the [docs] tag from the mobi files?

MobiMetaEditor ?

Haven't used it myself, but I stumled across MobiMetaEditor (java tool) in the Kindle section, AFAIR. Might do the trick for you. Cheers, Per |
