Can any ereader use my format?
I have numerous ebooks in the Microsoft ereader .lit format. I'm quite at a loss if any of the available ereaders can acknowledge this or if you can download MS ereader onto them. I'd hate to think I'll have to continue lugging my laptop around when I want to read a book away from the house and would rather not convert them to any other format. I'm actually very limited on how all of these ereaders work still. Thanks....

As far as I know .lit is an outdated format, in that Microsoft has discontinued support for and development of it. There are probably readers which can use it, but I'm not aware of any.
Your books can easily be converted with Calibre though, to whatever format you want. |

As has been said, the Lit format is essentially dead. You're going to have to convert your books in order to read them on a modern reader, but Lit converts very well to either Mobi or ePub, the two popular current formats.

I'm going to have to agree with the other post's I don't think there is any that support .lit officially on any of them it's probably due to some Microsoft licenses nobody was willing to pay for.
There are a few converters for .lit files ABC amber, Convert LIT, or as others have already mentioned and probably the best solution is Calibre. What you really want for modern readers are .mobi files for kindles or .epubs for basicly everything else. |

Going to add one thing to the discussion. In order to translate your lit files to an upto date format try Calibre at calibre-ebooks.com. I would recommend tht you use either mobi or epub format.
