Author Tag: Revisited

I would humbly request that Kovid would consider making the Author tag work via conversion options in recipes, for the simple reason that this field can be changed by anyone once its in the Calibre Library, by simply clicking on the field and editing it.

Having it not as an option (to tag the editor as anything the user sees fit, instead of the default 'Calibre'), serves no special purpose, to my not so acute business sense. The RSS feed gets converted, and Author is tagged as Calibre, the user then turns right around and clicks on the field, and changes it to what ever s/he wants. Having the option to have it called whatever gives tthe user freedom to tag the author as s/he pleases, in one go.
