Sync reloads ALL books!!

A search here (and elsewhere) suggests to me that this is not a unique problem. Here's what happens to me:
1. Buy a book from Kobo
2. Update library
3. Later, turn on Kobo wi-fi and sync
4. I sit and wait while every book I ever bought is downloaded... again
5. Spend the next 30 minutes closing all those books since they are now "open"... again.

This is happening every time and I'm fast losing patience with it. I tried the "uninstall desktop, re-install" to no avail.

Any advice?

I had the same problem with my Kobo Wifi and it was missing a lot of books at the end of the sync. That, plus the fact that I had to much books for the Wifi memory helped me decide to upgrade to a Kobo Touch.

The time/date on your reader must be set at a time previous to the time/date on the Kobo server, so it may think they're all new books.

Check the time/date on your reader.
