Facebook sharing

In my conversion settings I always tick the box to enable sharing. I am aware of the warning that this disables last page syncing.

I then email it to my Kindle 4NT, then in the Kindle iPad and iPhone apps go to Cloud then download the book to the device(s).

Despite the aforementioned warning I find the last page syncing works just fine across all 3 devices. What doesn't seem to work, however, is sharing of highlights, etc - on the K4NT it says "something went wrong, try later" and on the iPad/iPhone it says something about "sharing failed, unrecoverable error"

Please note neither the K4NT or iOS app give a message saying "This content does not support sharing"

I use OS X 10.7.4 and Calibre 0.8.59

That warning applies to sending the files by USB. If you email them, then amazon adds them to its personal documents service. As for your error message, I have no idea.

Ok, I sideloaded the exact same book onto my Kindle and tried sharing and it worked fine. I tried again using the emailed version, same error as last night. So it's definitely the emailing of the file that breaks the sharing function. I assume it's Amazon adding the Whispersync functionality that breaks it.

For the failed attempt, Amazon email me saying "We were unable to send your message because of the following issue:
Something went wrong, please try again later."

Interestingly, the Facebook message showing after the share from the sideloaded book is is "Share from personal document" as opposed to "Share from <book name> or <author name>"
