Using Collection Manager plugin

I've downloaded Kindle collection manager plugin for Calibre. I have Kindle KB.
I've watched a youtube video of someone making plugboards (?!) and settig a series of books, then doing something else and that was it, the instructions then said restart your Kindle.
I'm more confused than at the start now, does anyone know of a sdecent tutorial on using Kindle Collection Manager which actually explains what you have to do to create collections?
Actually I'm not sure how, but somehow it's completely messed up the collections I already had on the kindle
