What is the reading order?
I frequently use eith fict fact or wikipedia to tell me what hte reading order of a new book series is, however lately they have been failing me and not telling me the correct reading order. Which web site do you use to tell you which book to read first and which is next in the series order?

I google "series name reading order". That usually brings up a number of sites with the series reading order.

If all else fails, I rely on publication order (the same order I'd have been limited to if I were reading each new book as it was published). But I've yet been unable to quickly/easily find a series order. It's not usually a closely-guarded secret in my experience.

And if it's too involved/intricate with regard to sequels, prequels and ancillary sub-series and/or meta-series... it's not something I'm going to be interested in anyway.

I was looking for the reading order for Starfire and it seems that wikipedia had it wrong and the same with fict fact. It was forum members that set me streight, so I am asking here to find a better source for reading order information.

I generally use wikipedia. In fact, I've just been trying to make an ebook containing reading order info for several authors and series using one of the firefox epub plugins, so I can keep the lists on the device.

It doesn't really help when the books are not published in chronological order. It should always (surely) make sense to read in published order, whereas a later prequel could be a massive spoiler (see Star Wars).

Wikipedia. It gives me the general view on the order of a series, which means there's the biggest chance I'll enjoy it, if I read it in that exact order.

Another vote for Fantastic Fiction.

Also I think Starfire may be a special case since, if memory serves, the recommended reading order is a chronological order in the stories which is NOT the order they were published in (sorta similar to Narnia).
