I was wandering about in Project Gutenberg and came across this strange book. It occurred to me that we have a lot of genres but nothing on manners.
I haven't read it but, judging from the passages that I skimmed when preparing it, I think that I would prefer to be a social recluse rather than leave visiting cards, pay afternoon calls etc. However, if you wish to be excruciatingly polite this may be the book for you. |
