Series data won't save to an ebook file

I've done mobi->mobi conversion to tie metadata into the file, and while everything else works (Title, Author, Comments, Tags, Publisher, Publishing Data, Cover, etc.) the series data will not transfer. Is there anything I can do about that?

MOBI does not support series metadata. You can use metadata plugboards to have calibre insert the series into the title when sending the book to a device.

I do use plugboards, but I was just wondering about this particular issue.
