Refresh and Ghosting

The new Glowlight Nook looks appealing, but I was wondering if any of the firmware updates addressed the refresh issue. When the device was first released, I ddin't like that it only refreshed every 5 or 6 pages and left behind some artifacts from the previous text. I know the Kindle Touch has an option so that you can refresh after each page. I was hoping that you could do the same now with the nook.

User-adjustable refresh rate has been a fairly big request since the NST was released.

My guess is that the silence on the issue and no announced firmware update for the NST mean that the only update for the Glowlight involves the control of that feature.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Coolreader on a rooted nook touch gives the ability to control the refresh rate. So if you willing to root you can get user-adjustable refresh rate.
I rooted my device and have been using coolreader from the day I bought it so did not know that it is not an option on the nooks actual reader had to check it to confirm.

I've never been bothered in the slightest by the black flash of refreshing with every page. I barely noticed it until I started reading about it. Still, it's far less disruptive than turning a physical page in a paper book.
