Question Calgary Herald news feed broken

The built-in news feed for the Calgary Herald stopped working a couple of weeks ago. The unmodified built-in recipe and the error log are attached. Any help would be appreciated. Calibre 0.8.46

It looks like the RSS links for "Calgary" and "Alberta" news section are broken. "Politics","National" and "World" are OK. Would you like to inform Calgary Herald about this RSS broken links?

By golly, you're right, but how did you determine that? I don't see any specific reference to missing sections in the log file.

I checked the RSS feeds as listed at this link and the Calgary and Alberta feeds come up empty.

I sent the Herald an email asking them to fix this. I'll report back when I get a response.

I got the hint from the 2 lines in the log:
"No articles found, aborting (Error Code: 1)"

I sent this off to the Herald support staff at CustServ@ReachCanada.com
I'll report back when I get a response.

From your sitemap page http://www.calgaryherald.com/about-c...d/sitemap.html

update 2

I got a reply claiming they fixed it, but it isn't. I replied to them with links and screenshots. The new links are different and display differently and without proper page headings. Old and new style links display differently in Firefox and IE. The new links still fail in Calibre, now at 0.8.47.

Old Calgary link: http://rss.canada.com/get/?F234
New: http://www.calgaryherald.com/scripts....calgaryherald
(Yes, the new link appears truncated.)

Old Alberta link: http://rss.canada.com/get/?F7550
New:http://www.calgaryherald.com/scripts...a%2Findex.html

Sounds like the recipe in Calibre needs some minor fixes. I'll see if this is the case and I'll fix it this weekend if I can.

You can use the attached version of the recipe for Calgary Herald. It works.

Thanks for the quick response. It works for me too. I'll be able to tweak this for additional feeds of interest. I'm surprised at the various ways those links display in browsers, RSS readers and calibre.

The original recipe is working again, and the sitemap still points to the new links for Calgary and Alberta news. They still do not work properly in Firefox, but do in IE. I prefer the recipe that rty provided since I was able to easily add some other feeds from their sitemap. Once again, thanks for your help rty.
